Our story started with Caitlyn and I almost getting lost in Miami to get to the kickoff. Once safely there, we were given the comedy genre. So while Caitlyn and I drove back from Miami, the team set to work hashing out the story. By the time we got back, all that was left was to figure out the final details before our writer, JP, could write the script through the night.
Saturday brought a day full of challenges and laughs, but we were able to wrap shooting around 10 on Saturday night. Props go to John, Noah, JP, and Danilda for their superb acting in addition to filling their other roles! Caitlyn then took the footage to edit it through the night, and she had a rough cut by Sunday morning. At that point, all that was left was a little fine-tuning and sound editing. Interestingly enough, our only real technical difficulty came when we were trying to export our backup DVD. A crazy drive to Miami then ensued, in which we saw three people get pulled over for speeding in a matter of 30 seconds. Thank God I wasn't one of them! For all our freaking out, we ended up getting the film turned in 30 minutes early.
I can honestly say that every member of our team contributed something unique and irreplacable to this film. Special thanks goes to Dalysabel for keeping me on the right path with all of the paperwork, and to Ryan for doing whatever we asked him, even though he had other things to get done that weekend! Also thanks to Dani and Caitlyn for encouraging me to enter our team in the first place! Because of everyone's excellent work, I believe we were able to make an excellent film, one that we all would want to see, even after staring at it on a computer screen for 12 hours. This is my 5th 48 hour film festival, and I believe this is the first time I've been on a team that got it right in literally every way. You'll be seeing us again.
I will be attending graduate school shortly in Virginia, so this is the last time I may see these people for a while, but it was a good way to go out. Thanks to everyone for making it an awesome experience!
Thanks to Fabio everyone at The 48 Hour Film Project for all your hard work! We really appreciate it!
