Filmmaking teams from throughout the Miami area successfully completed a weekend of filmmaking. Films were due on August 3, and the last few minutes before the deadline saw filmmakers, operating on little sleep and lots of adrenaline, rushing to get their films in on time. All of completed films were screened on Wednesday and Thursday, August 6th and 7th for enthusiastic audiences and judges. But that's just the beginning. Coming up, tentatively scheduled for August 28th, we'll be having our final Awards Ceremony, announcing and celebrating the best in each different local category. Note! This applies even to films that were not completed on time, so everyone is welcome. And, of course, we'll also announce our overall winner, the film which will go on to compete in the International 48 Hour Film Project. Lots of fun to come! In the meantime, the judges will be reviewing all the films and making their final decisions. But once again, this year's Awards Ceremony and the end of competition only heralds the dawn of a new era of cooperation among our film makers. Yes, we're already looking forward to creating joint projects where those of us who want to can work together on films for other festivals or even for professional use and/or distribution.
