PREMIERE SCREENING Thursday, August 7 Time: 7pm Place: Byron Carlyle Theater, 500 71st Street, Miami Beach Notes: Tickets can be purchased at the door half an hour before the first screening. Tickets may sell out, so be sure to get in line early!
This is a movie that we made for the 48 Hour Film Project (Miami 08). All writing, filming, and editing of "The Violin" took place during the 48 hour time period. Our genre was Thriller/Suspense. We had to incorporate 3 elements into our film: A character (Hal or Honey Potts, an artist), a prop (sunglasses), and a line of dialogue ("Some people like it that way"). Enjoy! Special thanks to: Glenn Basham, professor at the Frost School of Music and concertmaster of the Naples Philharmonic, for his amazing improv sounds effects and incredible violin playing. Eric Crow, for his amazing acting, as well as a script-writing twist. Ben Homer, our cousin, for being our incredible New York cinematographer. Millie Fleurs, the flower shop and Soyka, the restaurant. (Lastly, Dara would like to thank Danyele for her stunning and super-speedy editing skills, and I'm sure Danyele would like to thank Dara for her sound-mixing and editing skills. And we'd all like to thank Hannah for her social skills.) [More] [Less]
